Itinerary

  • Day 1 Ho Chi Minh city

8.30 Start from your hotel, ride down Saigon’s busy boulevards that are teaming with daily life and stop of at one of Vietnam’s iconic locations – Thich Quang Duc monk statue. The spot where a monk burnt himself to death in protest of the Vietnamese war on 11 June 1963.

Next stop is the hidden weapon storage cellar that was used by communist soldiers as they prepared for revolution on 30th April 1975. Nearly three tons of weapons were kept in the cellar by Saigon Commandos to attack the Presidential Palace during the Tet Offensive in 1968. It is one, amongst many, untold valuable exhibits that manifest the brilliant feats of the Vietnamese people and army.

Afterwards, we will make a quick pit stop at Saigon’s smoothie & juice ‘drive-through’ shop – where you can try a delicious blend of Vietnam’s many tropical fruits from mangosteen, coconuts, custard apples to dragon-fruit before we head on to district 5 (Cho Lon) – Chinatown of Saigon. Here, you will discover a vibrant wholesale market where the majority of goods trading occur in Saigon. Selling anything from worldwide household items, clothing brands to traditional ceremonial paper offerings for ancestral worship – such as paper money to life-sized paper cars. You’ll also have chance to try Banh My here – a delicious Vietnamese baguette sandwich with pate, pork meat and herbs with the kick of fresh chili.

We’ll continue to zigzag through District 5 into District 1 where we will have a late lunch at a local restaurant.

After lunch we will visit one of Ho Chi Minh’s famous and most beautiful pagodas. You can chill out and experience the afternoon Buddhist service before we drop you back to hotel at around 4:30 PM.
