Visit (outside) Ho Chi Minh’s mausoleum before having a leisurely walk to visit the Ho Chi Minh complex, you have a chance to see the embalmed body of Ho Chi Minh then walk around the garden to see 2 houses where he lived & worked from 1954 to 1969. Then visit One Pillar Pagoda where worships the Godess of Mercy – It is the most unique padoga in the world

10:00 Visit to the Temple of Literature is a must as this 11th-century relic was built in honor of Confucius, a Chinese scholar. Known as the first university in Vietnam, it was built in 1070. This is the place where contests to select talents from all over the country took place. In the Temple of Literature, there is also a teaching area and stelas of stone turtles to record talented scholars and doctors during the former feudal dynasties.
11:00 Follow it with a visit to one of the city’s museums (choose among the National history museum, Hoa Lo, Museum of Ethnology and Fine art museum)
12:00 Having a break for lunch or some drink (by your own budget).
13:00 In the afternoon you visit Quan Thanh temple, one of the four most important temples in the city, dated back to the 11th century under Ly Thai To King, worshipping the Tran Vu gods, the principal deities in Taoism. Take a leisurely walk on a romantic road crossing the West Lake with beautiful city views. Stop at the Tran Quoc pagoda which dates back to the 6th century during the reign of Emperor Ly Nam De Dynasty.
14:00 Continue to Hoan Kiem Lake (or Lake of the Returned Sword) that is asociated with a legend about an emperor who was once given a magical sword which helped him defeat the Chinese Ming Dynasty and in doing so saw the return of the Golden Turtle God to the lake. Take a leisurely walk in Ngoc Son Temple (or Temple of the Jade Mountain) predominately dedicated to war hero General Tran Hung Dao who defeated an armed force of 300,000 soldiers sent by Mongolian Emperor Kublai Khan in the 13th century to invade Vietnam.
15:00 Next, explore the Hanoi Old Quarter which was built in the 15th century as a trading center in the capital city with 36 streets of different products.
16:00 Finally enjoying the water puppet shows that is the unique performances, first appeared in the 11th century. In these shows, the daily life, culture and belief of Vietnamese people are described by puppets on water. The show usually integrates a traditional music performance as well.
